Bounces
Folder linking, auto-scan, metadata extraction, and project linking
What are bounces?
Bounces are audio files exported from your DAW — mixdowns, stems, masters, and renders. AudioEnv scans linked folders to catalog these files with metadata like duration, sample rate, bit depth, and format.
Linking folders
Link a folder in the Bounces tab to start tracking audio files. AudioEnv will scan for WAV, MP3, AIFF, and FLAC files and extract metadata using AVFoundation.
- Supported formats: WAV, MP3, AIFF, FLAC
- Metadata extracted: duration, sample rate, bit depth, file size
- File paths are stored for local playback
Auto-scan
Enable auto-scan on a linked folder to automatically detect new bounces. AudioEnv uses FSEvents to watch directories for changes and re-scans when files are added, modified, or removed.
Project linking
AudioEnv can suggest links between bounces and projects based on file names and directory structure. Link a bounce to a project to track which session produced which audio file. Suggestions include a confidence score to help you verify matches.
Playback
Click any locally available bounce to play it directly in AudioEnv. The built-in player supports play, pause, seek, and queue management. Use "Play All" in a collection to queue all bounces as a playlist.
